Murmuration Duo

Through their performance Murmuration
Duo creates a continual process of
weaving, un-weaving, making, re-making,
raveling and un-raveling, inspired by John
Cage’s philosophy of music making:
composition as process. Siamak Anvari
(electronics) and Leslee Smucker
(prepared viola d’amore) use process as a
way to unfold potentialities in the sonic
world by shaping and reshaping sounds
acoustically and electronically through
resonators and sound processing. By
using small multichannel setup and the
movement of the viola, their performance
creates a space where acoustic and
electronic sounds flock together.
